The 3rd Munich Technology Conference will take place in Munich (Technical University of Munich) from October 8-10th. The theme is “Additive Manufacturing – Accelerating the Industrialization: A Reality Check.” Initiated by Oerlikon and co-hosted by the Technical University of Munich, MTC3 is partnered with GE Additive, Linde, McKinsey & Company, Siemens and TÜV SÜD.

The Conference

Established in 2017, the MTC has grown from an estimated 600 attendees to 1000 last year. Over 40 speakers will deliberate on the status of additive manufacturing industrialization and the achievements within the industry at the event.

The Agenda

First day – A new pre-conference networking event will allow Additive Manufacturing startups to pitch their ideas. This will start with the Professor Hofmann’s open speech, Dr. Roland Fischer, CEO of Oerlikon Group, and Dr. Helmut Schönenberger, co-founder and CEO of UnternehmerTUM.

Felix Ewald, CEO & Co-founder of DyeMansion, a German automated post-processing provider and Yves Hagedorn, Managing (Director of Aconity3D) will also be providing insight on entering the Additive Manufacturing Industry.

Second Day – The most interesting topics will include:

  • Collaboration and the Solution of industrialization;
  • Driving Industries with a Focus Aviation;
  • Digital Manufacturing;
  • AM Materials;
  • Norms, Standards & Quality Management.

Speakers from TÜV SÜD leading these discussions include Professor Hofmann, Holger Lindner, CEO of Product Service, and Gregor Reischle, Head of Additive Manufacturing. The Senior Expert Additive Manufacturing of Linde, Pierre Forêt, and the company’s CTO, Todd Skare.

Dr. Melissa E. Orme, VP of Boeing Additive Manufacturing, Chris Schuppe, GE Additive General Manager – Engineering, Dr. Jan Michael Mrosik, COO of Division Digital Industries, Siemens, Dr. Karsten Heuser, VP AM, Siemens Digital Industries, and Dr. Christoph Schmitz, Senior Partner, McKinsey, are also among the speakers.

The Workshop

Third-Day – The participants can engage in interactive workshops to directly exchange ideas on solving 3D Printing hurdles. It will include an Oerlikon-lead workshop on today’s metal Additive Manufacturing market, and the current and future customer requirements.
